Overview

Alice Springs Womens Shelter (ASWS) provides a range of supports for women and children experiencing domestic and family violence. The services include emergency accommodation, outreach support, and counseling. ASWS provides the secretariat for the Central Australian Family Violence Sexual Assault Network as well as extensive training and public education and advocacy.

ASWS is a non government organisation, managed by a voluntary Board of Governance, and has been providing services in Central Austiralia for over 30 years. Alice Springs Womens' Shelter is the only specialist domestic and family violence support service for all women in Alice Springs and the wider Central Australian region, including the Pitantjatjara and Ngaanyatjarra lands.

ASWS receives funding from the Northern Territory Government, the Alice Springs Transformation Plan, and FAHCSIA.
