As part of the National Pioneer Women’s Hall of Fame International Women’s Day celebrations we were very honoured to have Dame Quentin Bryce visit the Crisis Accommodation service. As we normally do, when someone is visiting the service, we told the current residents about the visit. One woman asked if she could write a letter as she was worried she would get too nervous to say everything she wanted to. Her handwritten letter was presented to Dame Bryce who spoke at length to the woman about how important her voice and story was and she was an important advocate for women in Central Australia. We agree and we are proud to present a transcript of the letter to the Senate Committee into Domestic & Family Violence as well as posting here. Behind every statistics is a women with a voice and a story.
