Events play an important role in uniting the community around important issues.

The Alice Springs Womens Shelter produces a range of events during the year to celebrate the role of women in our community and raise awareness about domestic violence and it's impacts. These events often mark key dates such as International Womens Day and the International 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence.
 

Alice Springs Womens Shelter will be launching it’s second annual 16 Days campaign against gendered violence on the 25th of November. 16 Days of Activism is an international campaign calling for an end to violence against women. From the International day for the elimination of violence against women and children on the 25th November, through to Human rights day on the 10th of December, thousands of organizations and individuals across the globe will take a stand against gender-based violence.The theme for the 2011 Alice Springs 16 Days campaign is It takes a whole community to prevent domestic violence, and the shelter is partnering with businesses, schools, local government and community groups to present a program of events aimed at raising awareness on how to respond to domestic violence.

Central Australian Family Violence and Sexual Assault Network (CAFVSAN) Strategic Planning Day
